Jane Hanger

Clinic Manager

 

Jane Hanger is the manager of the Sorensen Clinic with responsibility for the administrative and clinical team, as well as communications, governance and regulatory matters.

 

Working closely with Dr Sorensen, she ensures that the clinic maintains the highest quality of care and oversees the day-to-day running of the practice.

 

Jane has more than 25 years of practice management experience and is widely respected for her professionalism, medical knowledge and industry expertise. She began her career as a nurse at the Royal Brompton Heart and Lung Hospital. In 1988 she moved into management with a private cardiology practice based at the Cromwell Hospital. From 2000 and for 10 years, she was the manager of a specialty hospital for plastic surgery in West London. Jane joined Dr Sorensen's team in 2010.

 

In addition to her full-time role, Jane serves on the steering committee of the Practice Managers Forum (PMF), a nonprofit organisation promoting education and professional development for practice managers in the UK.

 

Jane has given several talks on topics relating to clinical audits and quality assurance. She holds a Diploma in Primary Care and Health Management.

 

Patients will benefit from Jane's wealth of knowledge and practical information, in addition to her warm and welcoming manner.

Alexandra Travain

Patient Care Coordinator

 

Alexandra Travain has a key role in the administration and assistance of patients throughout their patient journey.

 

Alexandra is American and has relocated from California to London. Due to a keen interest in medicine, she completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biological Sciences at University of California, Santa Barbara in 2017.


She has previous experience of working in private clinics in both California and London. She joined Dr Sorensen's team in July 2019 as the Patient Care Coordinator, ensuring that patients are fully informed following consultation, surgery and recovery.


 

She works closely with Jane to provide an efficient running of the practice.


Alexandra has French ancestry and speaks fluent French.

Dr Charl Jooste, MD

Consultant Anaesthetist

 

Dr Charl Jooste ensures that patients are safe, comfortable and well looked after during surgery. Patients find his calm and gentle manner very reassuring.

Dr Jooste qualified in Medicine (MD) at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He has been a Consultant Anaesthetist at King’s College Hospital in London since 1999 where he is a senior member of staff.

Dr Jooste is highly skilled and has extensive experience in providing anaesthesia for patients undergoing plastic surgery. He has been working with Dr Sorensen since 2008 and is an important member of the clinical team.

Dr Jooste and Dr Sorensen share common values in patient care. Patients of the Sorensen Clinic will benefit from their long and close collaboration.


Professor Kariem El-Boghdadly, MD

Consultant Anaesthetist

 

Dr Kariem El-Boghdadly is an experienced anaesthetist who delivers a very high level of care to his patients. He is appreciated for his kindness, communication skills and ability to put patients at ease.

 

Dr El-Boghdadly qualified in Medicine (MD) at University College London. He is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Guy's and St Thomas Hospital in London - and the Research and Development Lead for Theatres, Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.

 

In 2017, he completed a Master of Science (MSc) in perioperative medicine at University College London. He is an editor of 'Anaesthesia' Journal and 'Anaesthesia Reports', author of several books and chapters on anaesthesia, and also serves as an expert reviewer for several high-impact journals. In 2022 he was awarded the Featherstone Professorship of Anaesthesia.

 

Dr El-Boghdadly has been working with Dr Sorensen since 2018 and is a valued member of the clinical team.
